Home Renovation Tour - Before and After Part 8

Hello there, friends.

How is your week treating you? We’ve made it to Wednesday. This past weekend was Father’s Day and I hope all of the many types of father’s out there had a lovely day celebrating. I miss my dad so dang much it can be suffocating in moments, but I talk to his and Marie’s pictures every day. 🤍

Today, I am continuing us on the home renovation tour of the current house. Last week I walked us through guest bedroom 2 and its bathroom. Today I’ll take us into guest bedroom 3 and it’s ensuite bathroom. If you missed the previous home tour(s) for this house then click here.

Let’s get started.

Welcome (back) to our home!

Let’s continue on from where we left off…continuing down the hallway to the end of the hall. (We’re passing by a door that leads to the third floor with guest room 4, etc. We will come back to this.)

GUEST BATHROOM 2 BEFORE:

GUEST BATHROOM 2 AFTER:

  • We replaced the floors with porcelain tile: Tile Shop Colorgloss Black Porcelain 11’x23”.

  • We replaced the countertops with a greyish quartz that coordinates with the media room’s countertop.

  • We painted the vanity Benjamin Moore Midnight Dream.

  • We changed the sconces to Velus Modern Gold 1-Light sconces.

  • We removed the attached wall mirror and added this Everly Quinn - Carey mirror in gold.

  • The faucets and shower items were replaced with champagne gold items.

  • We tore out the tub and the curved, dungeon-like ceiling to make it one larger walk in shower.

  • The shower tile was ORIGINALLY replaced with: Daltile - Intertwining Arabesque Mosaic Nero Marquina on the back wall and Floor and Décor Viviano Thassos Economy Polished Marble Tile on the side walls like the other bathrooms to keep it consistent. Before anyone actually used the shower we had to have some plumbing corrected and our best guess is that the plumber potentially sprayed something on the marble tile that ruined it because the black marble turned white. It was a very sad discovery. So, we replaced the back wall tile with Pietra Black Polished Porcelain 12x24” tile.

  • We replaced the drawer pulls with these brushed brass cabinet pulls.

  • I added a Ruggable “Gisele” runner in soft black.

That’s the end of the tour for today. Do you have any experience with renovating a bathroom? Have you ever opted to go with black and regretted it? HA! I love it so much, but goodness it shows everything more than white does. Comment below!
