Home Renovation Tour - Before and After Part 6
Hello friends,
How’s your week so far?
I’m continuing us on the home renovation tour of the current house. If you missed the previous home tour(s) for this house then click here. Last time I walked us through the upstairs landing and the laundry room. Today I’ll continue us along into my office & gym, the attached guest bathroom, and the media room.
Thanks for hanging in there with me and as we slowly make it through the entire house.
You can pin this to Pinterest to save it for later or to share.
Let’s get started.
Welcome (back) to our home!
Let’s continue on from where we left off…to the left of the laundry room is guest room 1 and it’s bathroom.
GUEST ROOM 1 BEFORE:
GUEST ROOM 1 AFTER: This is now my office/gym space.

We removed the carpet and installed hardwood with staining to closely match the rest of the house.
We replaced the pull down shades.
I had the window seat cushions reupholstered with performance velvet fabric from Spoonflower in “Big Cat Damask (taupe) medium/tiger”.
We changed the cabinet pulls to these in brushed gold.
I wanted a desk that would hide my legs and also that has holes in the top to run cords through and was SO HAPPY to find this Cosner Executive Desk.
The Rug Collective Amelie 9x12 rug. I like the colors and low pile of this rug, but there is ZERO grip underneath. I added a non slip rug pad underneath and it still seems a little iffy on it’s slippery factor. That being said, for that reason, I probably wouldn’t buy this brand again. I’ve linked other rugs of different brands that I really like here: https://liketk.it/4Cj5R
Crosley Furniture Aimee narrow etagere set and Aimee 3 tier console
GUEST BATHROOM 1 BEFORE:
GUEST BATHROOM 1 AFTER: this is now my office/gym bathroom.
We replaced the floors with porcelain tile: Venato II Polished Porcelain Tile 12x24” from Floor & Decor.
We replaced the countertops with porcelain.
We changed the sconces to Bolen Steel Wallchiere in polished nickel.
I used a wall mirror that’s been floating around in the previous two homes.
We painted the vanity Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White.
We replaced the drawer pulls with these acrylic & chrome cabinet pulls.
The shower tile was replaced with: top half: Daltile Lavaliere Carrara White Polished Marble Chain Link Mosaic, bottom half: Floor and Décor Viviano Thassos Economy Polished Marble Tile, and the shower floor: Daltile Venetian Calacatta Random Mosaic.
The faucets and shower items were replaced with coordinated chrome items.
At the top of the stairs landing when you head to the right you’ll see the media room on the right and a hallway to the left.
MEDIA ROOM BEFORE:
MEDIA ROOM AFTER:
We painted the media cabinet and cabinets Benjamin Moore Midnight Dream.
We replaced the fabric in the media cabinet with a black mesh speaker like fabric.
We replaced the cabinet pulls with
We replaced the countertop with a grey and black quartz.
We replaced the sink using the identical one from the butler’s pantry because the one in there was really tarnished, and replaced the faucets.
We added tile to the backsplash: Tilebar - Rework Gray Blue 3x12 Matte Porcelain Tile. I’m literally obsessed with this tile and it comes in black, the gray blue that looks almost black, and a white.
We used the sectional, rug, other furniture, and decor we had from the previous home(s).
The runner by the bar area is from the previous home: https://amzn.to/4aI1KpI in medallion grey.
Enchanted Home Pet Dreamcatcher Dog Sofa in Caramel: https://amzn.to/4b3FYwG
That wraps up the tour for today. I hope you enjoyed the fifth installment of our renovated home tour! I’ll share the media room next time before we move on to the real guest bedrooms.
