Home Renovation Tour - Before and After Part 5
Hello friends,
I hope your week is treating you well so far.
I’m continuing us on the home renovation tour of the current house. If you missed the previous home tour(s) for this house then click here. Last time I walked us through the living room (den), vestibule, and the mudroom. Today I am continuing the tour upstairs to show you the upstairs landing and the laundry room.
I think* I will continue to share the before and after posts every other week to mix them in with other post topics, but you never know what wants to come out of this noggin’ so it’s possible some will be back to back weeks. Just hang in there with me and we’ll eventually make it through the entire house.
You can pin this to Pinterest to save it for later or to share.
Let’s get started.
Welcome (back) to our home!
Let’s continue on from where we left off…
When you head upstairs you will first reach the landing. This is a big open area that wraps around both sides of the stairs reaching different rooms, so for today we will head to the left.

Not much was changed in this specific area except painting the doors white.
We kept the glass chandelier that was already there.
We added the stair runner mentioned before.
We added new furniture and decor. This was the final area to be decorated and I was very excited to finally focus on it and how it came together.

LAUNDRY ROOM BEFORE:
The photos I took pre-renovation were purely to show the color of the cabinets, floor tile, and countertops so they’re not exceptional at showing the laundry room “before”.
LAUNDRY ROOM AFTER:
We painted the cabinets Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White
We replaced the window(s) and added new pull down shades.
We replaced the marble counter tops with porcelain counters that match what we used downstairs and throughout most of the rooms to be consistent.
We replaced the (beautiful tile) floors with new porcelain tile to coordinate with the other bathrooms: Venato II Polished Porcelain Tile 12x24” from Floor and Decor.
We used the existing round cabinet pulls but switched out the drawer pulls to these chrome cabinet/drawer pulls.
We replaced the sink and faucet.
I installed pullout drying racks inside the cabinets to hang dry my clothes. The wall mounted pull down drying racks I installed at our previous home wouldn’t fit inside the cabinets nor on the wall space in this laundry room and these accordion retractable ones have been amazing in this space.

The baskets I found at HomeGoods and the laundry sign above the W/D was a Michael’s find years ago for the previous home.

Loads of Fun Laundry Schedule sign (on the wall by the door)
That wraps up the tour for today. I hope you enjoyed the fifth installment of our renovated home tour! I’ll share my office & gym, the attached guest bathroom, and the media room next time before we move on to the real guest bedrooms.
