What's Up Wednesday: March 2024

Hello friends,
I hope your week is going well! We’re closing in on the end of March and I can’t say that I’m sad about it. This felt like another long month but at least there was some fun and nice weather. I’m not loving the yellow pollen coating everything, but I appreciate this season’s weather!
As usual, I am linking up to share my monthly recap on the last Wednesday of the month.
If you’re new(er) to my blog site, this is what we recap every month:
What we're eating this week:
This week I’ll be eating lots of take out. As it turns out in this current state of life I do not particularly plan on cooking (still). I may prepare something for myself at some point, but ultimately I’m just not emotionally able to cook right now/yet.
I did complete the ProLon fast at the beginning of this month as I had mentioned it in last month’s WUW post. I shared a post about it last week as well so if you missed it and / or it interests you then click here to read it.
You can purchase the 5 day “fasting mimicking diet” here. I promise you, the benefits are worth the price.
What I'm reminiscing about:
This past month was rodeo season and as usual, I tend to listen to country music more during this time. I started a George Strait Pandora station and went down memory lane. The station pulled in a lot of older country songs that I listened to growing up when with my friend’s family as well as some other favorites of mine. I was lucky to be able to go to George Strait’s “The Cowboy Rides Away” final concert in Dallas in June 2014 with my bestie Rachel and two of our friends.
What I'm loving:
I finally finished decorating the landing at the top of the stairs. It was intentionally the last area to even consider as we had some floating furniture filling the space while I focused on other things around the house. I mentioned this in the Easter home tour post on Monday actually. Well, I am a hint obsessed with how it all turned out.

What we've been up to:
March was a nice month. It was also Colon Cancer Awareness Month so I’ve been trying to post things on social media for awareness. I also started wearing the blue colon cancer awareness bracelets my sister gave me once I realized that March is it’s dedicated month. My prayer is that someone notices and schedules their screenings. 💙
This month I had lots of appointments and brunches and dinners with family and friends. I attended two rodeo concerts, a jazz brunch, and I will be attending a crawfish boil tomorrow as well as a 40th birthday celebration this upcoming weekend. Life is always busy it seems, but I appreciate the moments that bring laughter and smiles.

What I'm dreading:
I am not a fan of dreading anything and thankfully do not have anything to dread.
What I'm working on:
My health and fitness.
My blog, as usual. I haven’t had as much time as I had hoped to write this past month, but have managed to keep up.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
What I'm excited about:
Traveling! I have a trip coming up next week to Cancun and I’m very excited to have some time away on the beach.
What I'm watching/reading:
Watching:
I didn’t get around to watching TV this month like I had planned to. My evenings were spent reading or researching things. Currently / lately I have had HGTV on a lot and Golden Girls in the evenings for background noise.
Reading:
This month I read:
I finished this devotional and really appreciated the context and encouragement.
I finished this book on my Kindle that I checked out through the library app and really enjoyed it! I'll likely read another book written by Sarah Morgan on the treadmill.
You can click this link or scroll to the top of the page and click on “Books” to view all of the self-help books I’ve read if you are considering a topic and want a suggestion.
What I'm listening to:
This month I have listened to a lot of country music. It’s been a refreshing change.
What I'm wearing:
I’ve been adding more and more to my LTK profile throughout the month so you can always follow along with me there to see what outfits or (HOLIDAY) home décor items I’m sharing! There are outfits on there that didn’t make it out of the house yet OR that I didn’t take a photo of when I wore it in real life.
A little bit of real outfits from this last 30-ish days:

I purchased some really comfortable pants from Amazon (joggers and wide leg yoga pants) and ended up really liking them! You’ll see the wide leg yoga pants below.

I really loved this denim dress for the rodeo. It comes in two other blue denim colors as well. I opted to wear a bandeau underneath it so it wasn’t as revealing.
Psst…my favorite boots!

These are the “wide leg yoga” pants. I cannot imagine wearing them for yoga because they’re so soft and comfortable yet stylish at the same time. I wore them out and about multiple times this past month. I liked that I could wear them higher up because they’re long and I could wear a cropped tank with it.

Y’all know I love the Old Navy Powersoft Extra High Waisted leggings (7/8 length and cropped)!!
But, check out these shoes I found at Marshall’s. I LOVE THEM!!

This dress, y’all. It’s so out of my go-to black or solid colored realm of choices, but I wanted to try it and then I didn’t want to take it off. It is SO BEAUTIFUL! And, it’s mostly sold out. But, I linked some similar styles as well as an identical style called “Blythe” by the same brand. I wore it with a jean jacket because it was nippy outside but took the jacket off inside of the restaurant.

I am certifiably obsessed with these jeans and you will be seeing me in them a lot. Most sizes are sold out but you can add your email to be notified when sizes come back in stock.

I’ve started snapping photos daily (if I remember to) even of just my work out clothes. I started a collection on LTK that combines them all into one spot (linked here) or you can click on the individual photos to go to that specific outfit.
These are all things I own and wear over and over again.

Spring and summer brings warmer weather and I’ve embraced this new pair of jean shorts. I really like them and was ok with the length as well. My former shorts no longer fit so I took the plunge to try these.

I honestly tried to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day for the rodeo concert, but after trying on a dozen outfit ideas I went back to black. These are some of my tried and true items I keep sharing on repeat and this is the 3rd pair of these Gonda booties that I own now. The other two are suede and I wanted these so that I wouldn’t have to worry about them getting wet which worked out perfectly because it rained that day!
There are many more outfits and home decor posts that I’ve shared this past month on my LTK page in addition to these above. You do not pay anything extra to shop through my page there and setting up your profile is FREE. I earn a small commission from the various retailers for free marketing for them at no extra cost to you.
You can view most of these details on my LiketoKnow. It page OR email me. =)
What I'm doing this weekend:
God willing, this weekend I’m attending a friend’s 40th birthday celebration while she’s in town from Germany and also celebrating Easter.
What I'm looking forward to next month:
I am looking forward to more enjoyable weather in April. I have a few things planned but not a lot just yet and I hope to keep it that way.
What else is new:
That’s about it for now!
