Spring Home Tour 2024
Hey there, friends!
How was your weekend? I think most everyone has had “spring break” by now and y’all are back to the grind. Can you believe that next up is Easter, Memorial Day, and then SUMMER? Where is the time going? If you find out, please let me know.
Easter is this coming weekend and I’m rather excited for it. As of the time I’m typing this I do not actually have anything planned, but I cherish the reason and meaning of Easter. Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection. His sacrifice for all of mankind’s sins in exchange for us to know Him and have eternity in Heaven. I was reflecting on this the other day because I was missing my dad and Marie and in my moments of crying felt His presence comforting me saying YOU WILL SEE THEM AGAIN. Some moments are really hard with grief, but those moments of assurance fill my heart with hope and anticipation of all that we’re promised. Thank you, Jesus.
So on to my easy, fun, light hearted, and rather short post today…I am sharing my Easter decorations. They sort of overlap with spring decor because, quite frankly, I do not have a lot of either. While I purchased some additional bunnies this year to fill a few empty spots in this new house, I’ll admit that I just do not get over excited about Easter decor because I don’t have little ones. If I did I have no doubt I would go all out in decorating for every holiday to make it fun, festive, and memorable. For now my three little misfits don’t particularly care about decorations. 🤣
Now, let’s take a quick look.
Welcome to our spring / Easter home!
I’ve had this cute boxwood bunny door wreath for quite a few years now and do not honestly remember where I purchased it (like Hobby Lobby, At Home, Michael’s, or Kirklands?). I see similar ones a lot. It’s a cute Easter touch to the front door.
Once inside I truly only have a handful of spots in the entry foyer and formal dining table to place decor for Easter. On the backside of the front door we hung a bunny/carrot cone wreath that had fallen off of the wine room door and I just never moved it back. 🥴
And yes, I did finally cut the tag off of the wooden bunny silhouette.
I mixed the bunny plates I already had with a few new gold bunnies from Marshall’s this year on the formal dining table.
The butler’s pantry has been a blank canvas that I’m not sure what to do with on any given day so it has provided space for various holiday decor.
I didn’t add anything to our kitchen area this year except for my bunny spoon rest. I considered placing some things in various spots but it just felt cluttered to me and I couldn’t quite get it “right”.
In our living room (den), I utilized our console table to decorate for Easter. This is my usual go-to spot for holiday decor and in our previous home it was in the entryway.
I found these black bunnies at Marshall’s and thought they’d be perfect for the fireplace mantle to add a pop of black like the decor I have on there. But, they just blended in with the TV so I placed them on the console instead and moved the white bunnies to a side table.
Well, I just couldn’t get adjusted to the large black bunnies so I ended up returning them and moved the white bunnies back. 🤣
I have decorated with white faux florals for years now (aside from fall). It may seem basic, but it’s neutral and has allowed them to work with the decor style of each home. Well, I branched out this year when I was finalizing the furniture and decor of the landing space at the top of the stairs.
I’m showcasing this because the chair fabric and the new blue faux hydrangea arrangement just scream SPRING to me and because it’s so far removed from my typical style that it deserves to have a moment. 🤍
