Let’s Look: How I "Pumpkin"

The countdown is real, y’all!

We’re basically midway through October and Halloween is fast approaching. I am ready for the FUN! I am still hoping we have trick-or-treaters this year. I just love seeing kids in their costumes.

Last year I had the fireplace on, a pot of chili prepared, and a ton of candy ready to hand out. But, then I missed out on the fun because I had to take my 94 year old great aunt to the emergency room and stayed overnight with her until she was admitted into a the hospital and settled into her room. This was pre-Covid of course so I was allowed in there. In fact, my dearest friend, Alicia, was with me the entire night too to help ensure she was taken care of properly. It was a major blessing to have a nurse friend by my side!

So, for Halloween I switch out some of my fall decor for Halloween decor on October 1st. I don’t have a lot of Halloween decor just yet, but I did purchase some stuff last year and a couple of things this year. I just tuck the fall decor away for the month and bring it back out on November 1st. This may seem like a lot of work, but since I do not decorate a lot for Halloween it really isn’t!

I am so happy with a couple of new items I picked up this year for our entry console. I think they are the perfect touch for the entryway.

I added these Halloween pillows from Wal-mart and this Boo pillow from Kirkland’s last year. I am not into spooky Halloween stuff by any means so these fit my style!

The front porch decor is from last year(s), but you can find similar items to these.

I got my Halloween easel from Kirklands and this is a similar one.

This is my exact Halloween wreath, except I added in some wreath picks that I got at Michael’s last year.

Our porch sign is reversible and I love that about it! I keep it on Happy Halloween throughout the month until October 31st and change it to the Trick or Treat sign - as a way of letting kids know they can come to our door for candy (at least, that’s what I feel it does!). We found it at At Home last year and it’s there this year again.

The stores I like to look for Halloween (and all holiday) decor is TJ Maxx, Tuesday Mornings, Marshall’s, Home Goods, Ross, Wal-Mart, Target, Hobby Lobby, and Michael’s.

Well that sums it up for our Halloween decor! We do not have much and it may very well stay that way. I don’t like to switch out many of my fall decorations and I do not care for spooky Halloween stuff so I tend to keep it simple.

How do you decorate for fall? Do you go spooky or sweet with your decorating theme? Let me know in the comments below!

PS: I shared this dress online today and in my stories over the weekend. It is fabulous for fall, but does run big so if you’re normally a medium you could probably wear a small and so on. Hubby loved the dress but randomly commented that it was too big on me. Regardless, I love it and it is so comfy! You can wear it with sandals, boots, or mules/flats, heels. You name it. Click here to buy the dress. Hopefully it will still be in stock! I didn’t want to wait to share it for that reason. =)
