Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day!
I hope everyone is doing well and can enjoy their Memorial Day holiday. How lucky are we to have this wonderful country to live in, the freedom allowed to us, and the protection granted to us by the brave men and women who serve our country (or who have served)? I hope you join me in counting your blessings today.
I’ve ended up missing in action from the blog this past month with the most random of things and appointments keeping me busy on the flip side of total quarantine. We must still take precautions and safety measures while in public but there is a sense of liberation after staying home for so long. I pray everyone is careful and cautious and truly takes the proper measures to prevent spreading anything…
That being said, this will probably be the first Memorial Day in long time that I have not seen family or friends on the day itself, but after the busy week I have had I am happy with a quiet Monday at home. And it’s supposed to be rainy which is my absolute favorite!
I figured I’d share some of my recent swim suit faves for Memorial Day since:
a) there will be sales on sales on sales today
b) why wait when I am actually writing a post now
c) some are already sold out so you need to jump on these to order now and try them!
*ALL of the below items are from Old Navy and could be sold out - HELLO Memorial Day SALES! If what you’re interested in is sold out just give it a week or less…they’re bound to be restocked. Summer just started! Old Navy has excellent sales all the time and NO, this is not a sponsored post. I just happened to buy a lot of swim wear from Old Navy recently.
**I am not about to share pics of myself in a swim suit on the blog. Hashimotos is real and my body may never be what I’d like for it to be again. That being said, all of the below items I ordered I stuck with a size small - for helpful size reference.
Swim Top Separates
I ordered this textured-rib underwire bandeau and LOVE it. The straps come off so easy for tanning and it doesn’t fall down super easily while I’m swimming laps. Grant it, if swimming laps I would definitely suggest using the straps. I like that the straps can criss-cross in the back if you want it to (and I do).
This is currently SOLD OUT though, which stinks. HOWEVER, there are still some sizes available in the convertible bandeau (the same but non-ribbed) and I definitely think and hope both will come back in stock soon. The wire holds everything up and in. =)
Swim Bottom Separates
I ordered the french cut high waist bottoms in black few months ago and could not be happier. Black is no longer available (for now). They’re currently only available in other colors.
HOWEVER, if you’re interest in high waist swim bottoms I absolutely love these too. I have had to talk myself out of ordering the various designs of these multiple times, particularly the white floral.
Another fun swim bottom that I ordered a while back and LOVE is the black swim sarong! I am all about covering up as I get older and when it is appropriate. This swim skirt has a bathing suit bottom in it with the sarong attached. The waistline is higher though I don’t think it’s considered “high waist”. The skirt length isn’t super long to make it matronly however it is long enough to cover my back side. I am so glad I took the risk in ordering this. I got it in black (of course).
One Piece Swimwear
Y’all. I saw this swimsuit as an Old Navy sponsored post on Facebook, but it was sold out. I kept it in mind and eventually found it in stock (YAY!). I ordered it in two sizes because I didn’t trust that this suit would be available long…and it wasn’t. =( Thankfully, it fit and I returned the other size. It looks like this black one EXCEPT the top part (empire waist and above) is leopard print. Mine is sold out but this black one is still available and trust me when I say it’s fabulous!
Is it practical for tanning? No. Is it practical for swimming laps? No. Is it practical for sitting poolside or beach-side? YES. Queue all the cuteness, chic-ness, and classiness. It’s also available in a bright blue color too.
If I didn’t already have two other one pieces I would definitely try this one piece…I love it in the white floral!
