Friday Favorites - March 16th 2017

Ooo-la-la.  Friday is here and I am excited!  I know this was spring break for a lot of Houstonians, so did you do anything fun?  Work was both busy and quiet for me but at least I knocked a lot out this week.  I'm wrapping up the week by sharing some recent favorites in the weekly link up with Andrea.

In no particular order:

Favorite #1

Marriages.

While I love weddings, I particularly love what they celebrate and that is marriage.  The covenant vows you make before God to spend the rest of your life trying to better your spouse's life and glorify our creator.  It's an honor.  It's a symbol of Christ-like love.  It's a covenant.  It's to be celebrated and admired, cherished and respected.

I will be attending a friend's wedding this weekend.  Someone I know got engaged recently and I saw the announcement on social media this week.  I am engaged.  I have five other friends engaged to be married this year.  And my FH has two friend's that are engaged that I can think of off the top of my head.  Love is in the air.  God is blessing 2018 and this makes my heart so happy.

Favorite #2

Date nights at home.

One evening recently the FH and I opted to spend our Friday night at home even though he wanted to take me out on a nice date.  We had just finished an intense work out class and I was in the mood for wine and the fireplace.  We had cheese and olives for an appetizer.  We made steak and salads.  We enjoyed some red wine.  Life is good.

Do you like date nights at home sometimes too?  What things do you do when you have at-home date nights?

Favorite #3

Engagement gifts.

We've been receiving engagement gifts here and there and I find them all to be so thoughtful.  We do not need anything mind you.  So the thought our loved ones put into giving these gifts make me happy because to me it is the thought that counts.  I thought this apron was a cute gift. ;)  Please excuse the kitchen in use behind me.

You can find a similar apron here.

You can find that Chosen Foods avocado oil spray here, too.

Favorite #4

Brunching.

Who doesn't like a weekend, leisurely brunch with family or friends?  I'd imagine you all do.  This one Saturday the FH and I met up with my cousin and her hubby for brunch.  The weather was glorious, the kind of day that spring dreams are made of.  The food and bay views were great, too.  Most importantly we had some cherished one on one time with them.

I snapped this pic as we darted out the door, because I liked my outfit.  An open knit top, my favorite jeans, and just the right accessories compliments of the FH who has great taste. ;)

Favorite #5

Trader Joe's.

Need I say more?  If you've ever shopped there then you understand.

I popped in there recently to pick up more of my favorite Everything but the Bagel seasoning and almond butter, but managed to walk out with a cart full of stuff.  *Of course*

But, surprise surprise this Onion Salt is DA BOMB.  It tastes like sour cream and onion seasoning.  #drooling  Go get it, right now.  You will thank me later.

*You can order them online if there's not a Trader Joe's near you but it tends to be a little bit more expensive than going to the store.

I also decided to try this Dukkah nut & spice blend and ummm, yes please.  I poured a tiny drizzle of olive oil and this blend on a piece of coconut flour bread I made recently and had to quickly put it away before I made bad decisions to overeat.  It's interesting with the fennel in there, but oh so delicious and I'm excited to try it the next time I bake chicken.

What were your favorite things from the past week(s)?  Anything fun planned this weekend?  I'm counting down the days to Good Friday when we have a long weekend again. ;)

Wishing you all, dear friends, a wonderful weekend ahead!

XOXO
