Hurricane Harvey in Houston

As you very well may know, my home city of Houston, Texas and other parts of my beautiful state have been severely affected by Hurricane Harvey this past weekend and the storm is not over yet.

For reference, this is my normal view:

This is the current view:

There has been a lot of flooding, damage to homes and cars, lives lost, tornado's, etc.  Given the gravity of the situation, I have postponed the blog posts I have already written to share with you this week to next week.

Please pray for our city and the other cities in Texas affected by this massive storm, and the first responders who are working diligently to rescue and protect everyone.

Lastly, here is a list of numbers that may be helpful to everyone in the Houston area.

**Call 911 in the event of a life-threatening emergency.**

Do not use 911 to check on the status of the weather, flooded roads, power outages, or anything that is not an emergency. These calls delay help to people in true emergencies.

The United States Coast Guard posted additional phone numbers that were set up for people who are in danger and need rescued.

281-464-4851

281-464-4852

281-464-4853

281-464-4854

281-464-4855

Residents can also call 311 or Houston Police's non-emergency phone number at 713-884-3131.

713-207-2222 to report downed power lines to CenterPoint Energy

In prayer,

Rebecca
