The Best Jeans for 2017
Jeans. It's always difficult for me to find the "perfect pair". When I find ones I like I may purchase a couple pairs of them, but then it seems that I eventually find something wrong with them and the hunt begins again. I am still loving my Denizen by Levi's jeans that I bought at Target so at least I have those! However, I recently went through my jeans drawer only to discover 6 pairs of white jeans (none of which fit quite right) and a plethora of varying other brands, styles, shades, etc. I think my wake up call was pulling out an old trusty pair of jeans I've had for 6+ years and realizing they're not quite in style now.
Back to square one...
I decided to do a little research on the trending jeans right now after a friend of mine commented that her jeans were potentially out of style (I didn't think so!) and recognizing my own plight. My assessment below is based on a recent Harper's Bazaar article posted in December 2016. It seems that most every style is still being worn by "celebrities"! I was shocked to discover this, but at the end of the day what I think holds true is that regardless of "fashion trends" you have to find the style of jeans that looks best on YOUR body type and wear them with confidence. In the mean time, I have rounded up some pairs of varying styles with varying price points for you to peruse should you need to update your closet for any reason. Happy shopping!

The jean types above are not all inclusive of every sub-type of jeans that you can find either. There's also high waist, low rise, trouser & wide leg, cropped or ankle cut, as well as embellished jeans. My "research" was the first I even realized that embellished jeans existed! You can find current "trend jeans" in Nordstrom's Trend section online as well. =)
As I mentioned above though, I strongly believe that despite what is currently "in fashion" you DO NOT need to go spend hundreds of dollars on the latest styles and brands of jeans. Not only can you find very inexpensive jeans that look the exact same if you really wanted them, but it is more important that you feel confident and comfortable in your clothes than to match what's in a magazine or on some celebrity right now. I know personally that I should never wear flared jeans again (insert the horror from my early teen years) and that not all skinny jeans look good on my athletic calves and are ultimately TOO tight for them. The struggle is real. But, you know what? Some people may think I do look good in them or that I do need a wardrobe update. Oh well! You can't please everyone and I for one am over the days of wearing uncomfortable clothes that are too tight, cut into my circulation, look cute only when standing, or that I have to wear heels every time I wear them because I'm not really tall enough to pull off the look. I hope you don't either!
If you do find yourself in need of a new pair, then I hope these "in trend" options are helpful for you. ;) Make sure to check out the Denizem Modern Skinny Jeans at Target too. I seriously can't get enough of their comfort, cut, and price!
Happy Shopping! Happy Friday! Friday Fashion!
