Hello friends,

We’re making headway into October which means Boss’s Day is approaching! Boss’s Day is recognized every year on October 16th.

National Boss’s Day was registered with the United States Chamber of Commerce in 1958 by Patricia Bays Haroski and it was her boss’s birthday (he was also her father!). The day was officially proclaimed Boss’s Day in 1962 by the Governor of Illinois. Fun factoids I found on this site here.

I thought I’d share some gift ideas if you’re into celebrating Boss’s Day and appreciate/like your boss. I know not everyone does so if you do not, you can skim through this post. ;)

The perk of this post is it can double for Christmas or birthday gift ideas as well! Especially if you think any of them are too expensive or personal for your boss/employee relationship…

FOR A MALE BOSS:

  1. a tie

  2. a nice pen (like a Mont Blanc)

  3. a nice picture frame

  4. a statue/figurine of something he enjoys

  5. an autographed photo of his favorite sports team

  6. a nice bottle of wine or whatever his beverage of choice is

  7. cuff links

  8. engraved money holder

  9. Yeti

  10. a coffee mug with his favorite coffee roast

FOR A FEMALE BOSS:

  1. flowers

  2. a nice picture frame

  3. gift card for a mani-pedi

  4. a nice scarf

  5. a nice shawl

  6. a nice wallet / coin purse

  7. candle with a candle warmer for the office

  8. a coffee mug with her favorite coffee roast

  9. a nice pen (like a Mont Blanc)

  10. a book by her favorite author

A few things to note!

  • Some of these overlap of course, and are applicable to everyone.

  • You can get your co-workers involved so that the gift is from the group.

  • Even just a card is WONDERFUL! Never undervalue the importance of feeling appreciated, even when it comes to your managers. Just a simple card saying thank you will speak volumes to them.

Have you celebrated Boss’s Day in the past? What type of gifts have you given? My boss’s birthday is only a couple days away from Boss’s Day so I’ve always had this day on my radar. It’s not always easy to come up with something, but I’ve always tried to recognize it with a card if nothing else.

That’s a wrap for today, friends. I hope you have a wonderful day!

XOXO
